I was born in Dalian, China, a small coastal town, and now mainly live in Providence, Rhode Island, a smaller coastal town. I’m currently a graduate student in the American Studies department at Brown Universty, where I write and research on photography, aesthetics, and contemporary culture. I graduated with a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, where I wrote a mediocre thesis on Lyle Ashton Harris’ Kodachrome archives, and Wolfgang Tillmans. My practice deals frequently with images, text, cultural artifacts, and everyday relics.

Additionally, I like to spend my time working on experimental publications. Currently, I’m an Editorial Assistant at Triple Canopy and work in the archives at the JCB Center for Public Humanities.

Anyway, my name is Wen. This website is currently being updated but I am greatful for your visit. In the meantime, I hope we can be friends, or work together in whatever capacity: jwenzhuang@gmail.com
